Hasty Generalization

In ancient Greece, a certain Socrates denounced the sophists of his time, who claimed to hold the truth, while their logic was fundamentally flawed. One of the mistakes they made was hasty generalization. It is not because something happened to your mother-in-law that it will necessarily happen to all the mothers-in-law in this world. Sometimes, it is obvious, but other times, since it is easier, people often fall into the trap of believing that what happens in their life happens to everyone, and that they hold the truth. This is unfortunately never the case…
